Ashamed

The Water said to the dirty one, “Come here.”

The dirty one said, “I am too ashamed.”

The water replied, “How will your shame be washed away without me?”

~Rumi

Eventually we all have to return to the stream of His mercy, no matter how stained our souls. For only there can we be purified and made whole again.

So why delay, why let it fester, why stay away…

“And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?”
Surah Al-Hijr 56

Darood Sharif

“Lo! Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation”. Quran (33:56)
Hazrat Ubay bin Ka’ab (RA) reports that, “I asked ‘O Rasoolullah, I would like to recite much darood upon you, how much of the time that I have set aside for dua shall I use for it?’ Rasoolullah (salallaho alayhi wa sallam – peach be upon him) replied, ‘As much as you wish.’
I said, ‘Then I shall use one quarter thereof’. Rasoolullah (salallaho alayhi wa sallam – peach be upon him) said, ‘It is as you wish and if you increase beyond that it shall be better for you’.
I said, ‘In that case I shall make it half of the time’. Rasoolullah (salallaho alayhi wa sallam – peach be upon him) said, ‘It is as you wish and if you increase beyond that it shall be better for you’.
I said, ‘In that case I shall make it two thirds of the time’. Rasoolullah (salallaho alayhi wa sallam – peach be upon him) said, ‘It is as you wish and if you increase beyond that it shall be better for you’.
I said, ‘O Rasoolullah (salallaho alayhi wa sallam – peach be upon him) I make the intention now that I shall set aside all the time of dua for reciting darood upon you’.
Rasoolullah (salallaho alayhi wa sallam – peach be upon him) replied, ‘In that case all your worries shall be removed and your sins be forgiven”.
Tirmidhi

Remember Me; I will remember you.

“So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me. O you have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed Allah is with the patient. “[2:152-153]

Rumi says in his book:

“I sit with those who remember Me.” (Quran)
If God did not sit with them, the yearning for God would never have entered their hearts. The scent of the rose cannot exist without the rose. The scent of musk never exists without musk.

Indeed I am near

And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them hear My call and let them trust in Me, in order that they may be led aright.

Quran 2:186
